Meet Aziz

Aziz Akbari has been living in Fremont since he was 7. A product of Fremont’s public education system, he has attended Parkmont Elementary School, Centerville Junior High School, and graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 2011. Aziz is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Southern California, where he is majoring in Mechanical Engineering, minoring in Computer Science, and is on the Pre-Law track. Aziz was a member of the PTSA while attending Washington High School.

Aziz has had a keen interest in politics since a young age. He has always been passionate about making a difference in his community, and has always involved himself in local events and government. He encourages others to do so as well. Over the last 8 years, he has seen the challenges within the City of Fremont – the lack of vision and strategy that left Fremont unprepared for the recession, and a recovery has been even worse. Consequently, Fremont has been forced to cut back on services that has affected public employees, especially teachers.

Aziz believes that the city government can and needs to be much more effective and innovative in order to be successful in providing for the city’s citizens. He has a vision for Fremont and has put together a bold and realistic plan to capitalize on the city’s full potential.
